GS-RESTORATION
Non-hydrofluoric Restoration Cleaner
Description and Use
Glazed Surface Restoration (GSR) is very effective ammonium biflouride masonry cleaner. GSR is designed to be used, on those hard-faced bricks, terra cotta, and concrete where HF is likely to burn the surface. This acid blend is in fact more effective than HF at removing the black mineral oxide stains that occur on these surfaces. GSR is also very good at removing rust and those brown, yellow, or black stains that occur under the eaves on aluminum siding.
Glass does not normally need to be covered when GSR is used properly, but do not allow it to dry on the surface: rinse quickly.
Advantages
*Can be applied via the highly profitable “Spray On/Spray Off” process.
*Often more effective than HF on black mineral stains on glazed surfaces.
*Little problems around glass, however directions must be adhered to.
*Much safer to people and plants than hydrofluoric acid.
Limitations
*This product may mark anodized aluminum so precautions must be taken when used around that.
*Do not allow this product to freeze.

Protect
Generally glass doesn’t need to be covered as long as you rinse quickly. But if glass has an aluminum frame surrounding it, a test should be done on the aluminum. Protect anodized aluminum and foliage with polyethylene or other proven protective material. Beware of wind drift onto surrounding surfaces such as auto and pedestrian traffic.
Surface & Air Temperatures
To avoid damage to masonry surfaces, do not clean when temperatures are below freezing or are expected to be below freezing the night before cleaning. If freezing conditions exist prior to application, allow adequate time for masonry surfaces to thaw. Best cleaning results are obtained when air and surface temperatures are 40 degrees Fahrenheit or above.
Application Information
Before applying read “Protect” in Preparation section and “Precautionary Measures” under Safety information.
Suitable Substrates
Glazed brick, concrete, glazed & unglazed terra cotta, porous brick, aluminum siding & vinyl siding
Pre-Testing
Always test prior to beginning full-scale cleaning operations. Testing should confirm cleaning effectiveness on each type of surface and stain designated to be cleaned. Test also to determine the desired surface contact time and any potential for adverse reactions with adjacent materials. Allow test panels to dry thoroughly before evaluating final appearance and results.
Dilutions
1:1 to 10:1 is the best application range for restoration work; there maybe a danger of burning the surface if the product is used repeatedly straight. Use straight for oil spot removal on concrete parking lots or structures. Use 8-1 to 20:1 for lane cleaning or sidewalk cleaning without heavy oil stains. Note: Dilutions will vary based on application and the particular surface to be cleaned.
Application Instructions
This product is best applied with a low-pressure applicator when cleaning highly porous hard brick. For best results, use two applications spaced several minutes apart. Do not let the product to dry on the surface. The first pass is to penetrate and the second to lift the stain out. Glass does not normally need to be covered.
Coverage Rates
Coverage rates will vary from 100 - 250 sq. ft./gal. depending on the surface porosity, texture and severity of staining.
Safety Information
Precautionary Measures: Always wear goggles and rubber gloves when handling this product. Keep off of skin and clothing. If material comes in contact with clothing, wash before reuse. Contains Hydrochloric Acid, Ammonium Biflouride, and Oxalic Acid. Do not get in eyes, on skin or clothing. Avoid breathing fumes. Keep container closed when not in use. Use with adequate ventilation and in a well ventilated area. Applicators should wear plastic, rubber or PVC boots and gloves, face shields and goggles to avoid splash to bare skin or eyes and must not wear contact lenses when using product. Take precautions to avoid exposing building occupants to fumes. Dispose of empty containers according to federal, state and local requirements. Avoid drifting of material or rinse water onto autos and pedestrians by protecting or diverting such traffic. Do not dilute GSR with any product except water. Do not use for any other applications other than specified. Do not remove label. Read Material Safety Data Sheet for additional safety and health hazard information prior to use.
First Aid +
