Big Save on the
historical
Police Station in Columbus, Ohio.
EaCo Chem, being the new kid on the block, is called in when
something goes wrong. This was the case at the old police headquarters
building in Columbus, Ohio. The contractor was using a two-step
cleaning process on this limestone building. Some of the limestone
was rust stained from the iron window frames. During the cleaning,
a bleaching of the surface occured. This could not be rinsed
off. The Historical Society was extremely concerned over this
issue. We were called to see if we |
could fix the problem. After testing, it was discovered
that when undiluted NMD 80 was applied a couple of times to the surface
and then rinsed off, the original color would return to the limestone.
This process was repeated below each window and was successful each
time at restoring an even appearance to the stone. To avoid the problem,
the rest of the building was cleaned with SafeRestore This cleaning
process is a wet on wet application. You apply SafeRestore over a
given area and then reapply before you rinse. The first time it begins
to clean the second pass will help float the dirt to the surface then
follow with a very high pressure rinse.

Oil
stain removal can be accomplished with acids.
Most people think of degreasers immediately when the subject
of oil stains in concrete comes around. EaCo Chem, though, goes
right to the acids for many oil stain removal jobs. There are
two main reasons we use acids in this application. Our acids
rely on very complex surfactant and detergent packages to perform
their jobs, and these are great at softening and floating a
wide variety of soils. Secondly, the acids are designed to penetrate
porous calcium based substrates very effectively. |
This combination of soap and acidity results in a great
quick clean that allows rinsing away of many stains in just a short
time and will work well even if the surface is already wet. An additional
benefit is that brightening of the concrete surface will be accomplished
at the same time. This definitely saves on labor and an extra cleaning
step. Our line is very versatile in that we do not offer safer and
safest effective clean with the GS Restoration and Sabrestore. If
you happen to be working in an area that might have glass or anodized
aluminum nearby with Sabrestore you can go ahead and clean with complete
confidence of safety and no covering anything to slow you down or
cost you money. GS Restoration will give spectacular release of deep
stains in any average application and is very safe at the same time.
We cannot claim the same safety as Sabrestore, but it is far better
than hydrofluoric acid. If your specialty is parking deck restoration,
our time motion studies have indicated that HD Degreaser, presoaked
several hours and agitated on the 10% of the worst stains will perform
better and more cost effectively. |
