EACO CHEM NEWS

FEBRUARY 2004

EaCo Chem changes Sabrestore name to SafeRestore.

It’s a slight change, involving only one new letter. But the difference it represents is quite significant. Eaco Chem has changed the name of its Sabrestore Restoration Detergent to SafeRestore. This name better describes the product’s primary feature. A non-hydrofluoric detergent, it’s strong enough to remove virtually any stain from all modern building surfaces but safe enough that it will not damage even the most sensitive of surfaces.

SafeRestore Restoration Detergent solves the multi-surface challenge in restoration cleaning.

One of the most challenging aspects of any restoration project can be the variety of surfaces that make up the building’s exterior walls. Finding a single restoration detergent that can effectively clean each of these surfaces without causing any damage can be a difficult task. The solution for these challenges is SafeRestore Restoration Detergent. Without harsh chemicals, safeRestore removes virtually all of the most stubborn stains that occur on modern surfaces including the deepest biological, pollution and metal oxide stains, even copper. The accompanying photos demonstrate SafeRestore’s multiple surface capability. These tests were done on a brick, limstone and granite building that was likely built in the early 20th century. The building was stained with biological and atmospheric pollutants. The test area was thoroughly wetted so that the substrates were saturated, but the surface dry (top photo). Undiluted SafeRestore was then applied to the test area and allowed to dwell for 20 minutes (bottom left photo). Since this particular limestone was very porous, it required a heavy saturation so that the SafeRestore would remain on the surface for the required dwell time. Finally, the test area was then rinsed with a 2,500 psi pressure washer. As the bottom right photo shows, SafeRestore effectively removed the biological and atmospheric staining on all the substrates without damaging any of the substrates or surrounding materials, fixtures or plantings. The ability to clean all these substrates at the same time with the same product is a huge benefit for any cleaning contractor. Additionally, SafeRestore is safe on glass and anodized aluminum making it the perfect solution for any restoration project.

These photos show safeRestore in action on a restoration project in the northeastern United States. The top photo shows the surface being prewet. The bottom left photo shows a heavy application of safeRestore foaming as it works to remove the stains. The bottom right photo highlights the impressive final results.
